Manchester United have been one of the busiest clubs this summer but their summer spending spree is not done by any means. Manager Jose Mourinho is still looking for quality players who he can add to his squad for the next season and has been linked with some of the finest players in world football at the moment.
He is also keeping an eye on the young talents at his disposal and will look to add some quality youngsters to his squad before the deadline day. One such player United are close to landing now is Bruno Amorim.
Manchester United club director Antonio Jose Leite has today revealed that they are close to sealing a deal for the 19-year old. Speaking to the Portuguese outlet Noticias ao Minuto, he said, “At this time the business is 90 per cent done and he may have an excellent contract ahead. “The contract will shortly be announced, but he is a future bet at United.”
So who is this newbie that is exciting United fans all around?
A versatile attacker who can also play on the wing or as a support striker, the Portuguese youngster is creating waves around Europe for his technical ability and creativity in front of goal.
Born and brought up in Vale de Cambra, Portugal, the 19-year old spent seven long years at the academy before he was finally promoted to the senior side back in 2015 as a teenager. However, he was not able to replicate his form at the highest stage and is only making appearances off the bench recently.
Though he is yet to represent his national side in any of the junior levels, Amorim is a gifted player with strength and agility tailor made for the English game. He has no exposure at the highest level and is only expected to play for the junior sides at Manchester United.
Mourinho will want him to play regularly for the U23 side at the club and will assess his progress from a closer range, before deciding on whether he is ready for first team action at Old Trafford.
At just 19, he is nowhere ready for the rigours of the Premier League but the Portuguese gaffer just does not want to miss out on a chance to work with one of the brightest prospects from his home country. Amorim has loads of potential and is only getting started but he will surely be a popular name in years to come.
