Liverpool are in brilliant form and are playing to the best of their abilities having routed arch rivals Arsenal 4-0 in their last encounter at Anfield. All their attacking players including the likes of Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane have made heads turn with their blistering displays of skill and have already notched up a number of goals for their side so far.
However, the Reds are looking forward to adding to their strike force and are making enquiries to bring in some more players before the transfer window closes this summer.
The man in charge at Anfield, Jurgen Klopp, will be more than happy with the current form of his players but is still willing to bring in a player who will help his team become a force to reckon with in the forthcoming days of the new season.
His search criteria have made him look no further than the French Ligue 1 to find the player who can perfectly fit his bill in the form of French attacker Thomas Lemar, who is currently playing for the reigning Ligue 1 champions AS Monaco. He played an important part in their triumphant campaign in the last term at Stade Louis II last season.
The 21-year-old has been playing in tandem with his other colleagues including the likes of Tiemoue Bakayoko, Bernard Mendy and Kylian Mbappe since his arrival at the club in 2015, leading them in their pursuit of glory in the last couple of seasons.
However, with both Bakayoko and Mendy having left the club in the summer and Mbappe in contention to make a move to arch rivals Paris Saint Germain, the young attacker might also be set to quit Monaco and join the Merseyside club before the deadline day.
The French sensation has been involved in 93 outings so far for the French Ligue 1 champions and has scored 19 goals for them already. He has also been the perfect team player on 23 occasions throughout his tenure at Monaco, helping his colleagues to score goals for their side and keep them in advantage.
It is going to be a big loss for the defending champions in France to have one of their most dependable attackers leave the club in the summer, as they look to pursue glory once again in the new season. However, it will definitely be a big opportunity for Lemar to prove his worth in the Premier League as well while playing for one of the biggest clubs in Europe in the form of Liverpool if the deal goes through.
