Leeds United have started their new season in the Championship in a consistent manner, having won two of their first four matches and drawing the other two so far. The Whites are looking to continue with their current form and have been poised to make a move for some new players to be brought into the team for the new season.
The Whites currently have their eyes on one of the players from the Premier League side Crystal Palace in the form of Jordon Mutch, who has been considered to be an outcast in his current team. He spent the last season on loan with the Championship side Reading and helped them to go into the final of the Playoffs which they eventually lost at the hands of Huddersfield Town, who made it into the Premier League.
The central midfielder has been playing in the team since 2015 but has found himself, for most of the time, sitting on the bench. However, the player has attracted a lot of interests from a number of clubs in the Championship, who are willing to provide him regular starts in the new season.
The 25-year-old player has played a lot of matches in the Championship with an array of clubs and has been one of the most highly regarded players in the role of a midfielder. The English international, who prefers to play in a central midfield role, has a vast amount of experience having played for clubs like Cardiff City, Watford, Birmingham City, Queens Park Rangers and many others. Leeds United are sure that the player will be able to use his experience to strengthen their midfield for the new season and help them make it into the top six.
The Elland Road club had a good season in the last one as well and were looking destined to reach the championship playoffs. However, some last-minute goof-ups made it difficult for them to qualify and left them stranded on the seventh position, losing out to Fulham, who made it into the semi final of the playoffs before losing out to Reading.
However, Leeds United are looking more determined than ever before to become one of the top teams in the Championship this term and make it a good season for them in terms of results, so as to reignite their chances of getting back into the top flight after a long gap of 14 years. The Whites are sure that an experienced player like Mutch’s inclusion into their side will boost that chance to a good extent.
