Hull City started their campaign in the Championship with a draw in their opening fixture against Aston Villa and a thumping win against Burton in the second game. The Tigers will be looking to make their comeback season in the second tier, having been relegated from the top flight at the end of the last term, a memorable one and are looking forward to adding some new faces to their squad in order to revamp it for the new season.
The man in charge at the KCOM Stadium, Leonid Slutsky, has been wary of his team’s attack and is eyeing a number of reinforcements to be brought into the side in order to strengthen it as much as possible. One player to have attracted him the most with his brilliant skills and swift footwork is the winger Marvin Johnson, who is currently playing for the League One side Oxford United.
The 26-year-old has been one of the most highly regarded players currently playing in the League One competition and has drawn interests from a number of sides from the Championship as well as the Premier League. Hull City, who are in dire need of a quality player in an attacking position for their team, are no stranger to the abilities of the English international and might be making a bid for him in the next few days to bag him this summer.
The Birmingham born English player has made 54 appearances so far for his team since his arrival in 2016. He has been nothing short of a dazzler and has been an integral part of the squad and has scored seven goals so far for his side. He has also shown his ability to help his teammates to score goals on eleven occasions and has been an influential figure in the team, whom Oxford United will not like to lose.
However, their intentions might hit a roadblock as their star player might be heading towards a move out of the club and into the KCOM Stadium. The potential transfer, in case it materialises, will definitely be a big boost for the Tigers in the new season and will help them in their pursuit to make it back into the first tier once again in the next term.
Johnson prefers to play on the left-hand side of the midfield and is a prolific attacker with an ability to unleash shots on the opposition goal from a long range outside the box. He is also known for his darting runs with and without the ball to bamboozle the opponent defenders.
