Hull City were one of the three unfortunate sides to have faced relegation in the last season, owing to a pretty dismal performance, especially from their strike force. The Tigers now are in the Championship and have already started their campaign against Aston Villa with a 1-1 draw, and are eyeing some new players to be brought into the side to strengthen their frontline for this season.
With the transfer market in its full flow, a number of players have been targeted by Hull City to be included in their side for the new season. One name, which is right on top of the list for the former Premier League club, is that of Nigerian striker Ahmed Musa, who is currently playing for the former champions of the Premier League Leicester City.
The 24-year-old signed for the Foxes in July 2016 as they looked to strengthen their attacking options and featured in 32 matches throughout the last term. However, he was far from his best during the season and only scored 4 goals to show for his efforts. Also, the fact that he had to play the second fiddle to the first choice marksman Jamie Vardy made it even more difficult for him to have a productive time at the King Power Stadium.
The former CSKA Moscow player has been tracked by his former coach Leonid Slutsky, the Russian being the current man in charge at the KCOM Stadium, as he is eyeing a reunion with his trustworthy forward in the new season.
The Nigerian striker, who played 168 matches for the Russian club before moving to the Premier League and scored 68 goals for them, is known for his physical presence in the opposition defence and he can use it to full effect to get the better of the opponents and score goals against them. The 24-year-old is also capable of laying off important assists for his teammates, providing opportunities for them to score goals and keep their team in advantage.
It is pretty imperative for the Tigers to find a good solution for their woes in the attacking front, which made them pay big time in the last season and has sent them down to the second tier for this season. The lack of aggression can be a real detriment for them to make a move back into the top flight in the next season once again.
Hopefully, the inclusion of Musa, who is almost set to join them, will give the Tigers that much-needed impetus to secure a place in the top six of the Championship.
