Inter Milan has been looking forward to making some important signings this summer, with a view to revamping their team for the new season. However, they are also looking to let go of a few of the players who they have in their current line-up and reshape the team to achieve better results than the previous season.
One such player, who has not been used much in the starting lineup and is looking to leave the club in the summer transfer window, is the French midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia. The 24-year-old came into the club in 2015 from French Ligue 1 club Monaco.
Reportedly, the French midfield enforcer has handed his club Inter Milan, a transfer request, as he wants to join a club where he will get more opportunities to play in the first team. He made only 56 appearances for the Nerazzurri, since his arrival at the outfit, which is indicative of the immense irregularity.
Besides, with the World Cup coming up in the next year, the French midfielder will be looking to spend as much time as possible out on the pitch rather than staying on the bench. That is also a big reason for the 24-year-old to leave the San Siro this summer.
The French midfielder is poised to make a move out of the Serie A, with his most probable destination being the Premier League. With clubs like Tottenham and Liverpool interested in him, there is a good chance that Kondogbia might play for one of them in the new season.
Liverpool have been looking to strengthen their midfield in the summer, trying to bring in some of the top class players from all around Europe. However, they have managed to bring in just one player so far in the form of Mohamed Salah from AS Roma. They are intending to have more depth in the middle of the pitch and might go for Kondogbia, who still has a contract running till 2020 at the San Siro.
The Reds manager Jurgen Klopp is looking for a major revamp in his side for the new season, as he knows that it is going to be a tough one with Liverpool having to face some of the biggest clubs in Europe, playing the UEFA Champions League.
A player with the immense amount of physicality like Kondogbia, who also has the ability to assist his teammates with crucial passes, can be a handful for the Merseyside club in the new season. So should Klopp snap him up?
