Scottish outfit Rangers have been really busy this summer in order to beef up their arsenal in order to ensure that they go toe-to-toe with their arch rivals Celtic for the domestic silverware. Pedro Caixinha has made as many as nine signings, including the incoming of galvanizing names to Ibrox Stadium like Alfredo Morelos, Ryan Jack, Bruno Alves, Graham Dorrans and Eduardo Herrera.
Initially, the team struggled to work together as a unit, which was evident from their shocking exit from the Europa League at the hands of Luxembourg based outfit Progres Niederkorn. However, things started to fall in place during the friendly games against Marseille, Watford and Sheffield Wednesday and their 2-1 win over Motherwell in the first league game of the season. The Gers do have a decent side now, but Caixinha is also looking to offload some players whom he considers to be surplus to the requirements of the club.
To shape his squad, the former Al-Gharafa boss has struck the likes of Joe Garner, Martyn Waghorn, Rob Kiernan, Barrie McKay and Matt Crooks off his books and considering how things stand, Harry Forrester is likely to be the next player to be shown the exit door. The Light Blues have their midfield and attacking sector pretty much sorted, as a result of which Caixiha has made it clear to Forrester that he has no future at Rangers under his stewardship.
Nonetheless, various clubs like Bolton Wanderers, Charlton Athletic, Burton Albion and Southend United have queued up to make him put pen to paper. The 26-year-old played 28 times in the league last season, whilst which he banged 7 goals but he fell out with Caixinha for poor attitude and this is why the Teddy Bears are willing to strike him off their books despite the fact that Forrester has two years left on his contract.
Forrester emerged through the youth ranks of Northampton Town, Watford and Aston Villa and it was during his stay in the ranks of Brentford and Doncaster Rovers where he made a really decent impression. Eventually, Rangers made him sign on the dotted line in the second half of 2015-16 season and he played a key role under Mark Warburton to hand his employers the Scottish Championship silverware.
At this stroke of the hour, he has been left out to be frozen and a move to Burton Albion might enable him in reshaping his career. The Brewers have already made seven signings this summer and if Nigel Clough manages to bring a proven figure like Forrester to the club, he would really have a good side to work with this season.
