Crystal Palace are looking to make amends for the mistakes from the last term and are hoping to turn the tables by getting some positive results under their belt. However, it seems that they are currently not on the right path as they have already lost both of their fixtures in the Premier League so far and are willing to get some new players into the team to revamp their side inside the few more days that are left till the closure of the transfer window.
The Eagles have been outplayed in both their matches in the last two weekends, which saw them vying against newcomers Huddersfield Town where they lost 0-3 and faced the same fate against Liverpool, this time by a lower margin of 1-0. This has made their current manager Frank De Boer sceptical about his team’s composition and he is eyeing a few changes to be brought into the side with immediate effect.
One player, who is right on the top of the priority list for the Palace manager, is the Bosnian international Ognjen Vranjes, currently playing for the Greek side AEK Athens. The defender has been one of the highly regarded players in Europe in the present scenario and can be a good inclusion to the Eagles’ squad, giving them solidarity in the backline.

The 27-year-old, who joined AEK Athens in January this year, has vast experience behind him and has played for a number of clubs all over Europe in almost all the major football leagues. In a career spanning over 160 odd matches, the centre back has been able to establish himself as one of the most dependable players in the backline.
Crystal Palace’s defence has been an issue for them in the last term as well, which made them slip down into the dreaded relegation zone for some time as well. However, the heroics from current France and Liverpool star Mamadou Sakho, who was brought into the side for the second half of the season, performed gallantly for the Eagles and got them out of the danger zone to seal a place in the 14th position in the league table.
De Boer tried his level best to get the influential defender in their team but had to cool their pursuit when a £30m price tag was slapped on him by the Reds. The Eagles are hoping that the signing of Ognjen Vranjes will help them to find the right alternative for Sakho this season.
