The transfer window has come to his climax and a number of surprising deals are expected to happen in the last two days. Clubs have been in a frantic mood in this week especially to complete transfers of their favourable players with less than 48 hours left for the deadline day.
According to reports, Crystal Palace are eyeing a deal for Michael Ngadeu-Ngadjui of Slavia Prague. The 26-year-old ace is being eyed as Frank de Boer is planning to make some last gasp attempts to save his job.
The Dutch gaffer has had a disastrous start to this season and had a chat with Chairman Steve Parish over the next course of plans. The Eagles owner is expected to hand him an emergency fund in a bid to turn the tide.
Boer has been looking for a central defender and the Cameroonian international’s performance in the backline has impressed the gaffer. Palace’s shambolic defensive performance has raised concerns for the boss who is also working on a deal for Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho.
Palace have been preparing themselves for a late flurry of arrivals and the Cameroon international could be the first arrival to the Selhurst Park. De Boer has so far tested defeats in all the three matches he managed in the Premier League so far.
Things were supposed to be normal as he replaced Sam Allardyce in the Eagles dug out. The current scenario might have been different if the gaffer had not been trying to implement a completely different style of football at the club. His brand of ‘total football’ has so far been a failure and if things don’t change drastically, Boer might be given the sack.
Ngadeu-Ngadjui is predominantly a defender but the player can also be used as a defensive midfielder. Given his versatility, Middlesbrough manager Garry Monk is also trying to rope in the player. The Championship side got demoted in the last season and have been trying their best to earn an immediate promotion as they are one of the promotional contenders.
The defender came through the ranks of Nigerian side Canon Yaounde and joined the Czech side last year only. He took very little time to stamp his authority as his resolute defending from the back helped the club to win the Czech title last season.
He also was a pivotal player in the Cameroon side that got their hand on the AFCON title. Palace are yet to launch a formal bid for the defender but are believed to be very close to making a move.
