The Premier League is back and as always, it is going to be a very exciting round of matches in the first matchweek of this campaign, involving all the big name clubs.
The summer transfer window has made the clubs part with huge sums of money and they will be looking to derive rich dividends from their “investment” in the top class players in the campaign which will be starting with a clash between two former champions of the Premier League, Arsenal and Leicester City.
While the Foxes and the Gunners will battle it out in their first encounter of the season, all the other teams are also making their final preparations to take on each other in one of the most intriguing leagues in the world as well as European football. A number of players with their skills will be on display throughout the new season, and quite a few are sure to attract the eyes in the first matchweek.
Three players who are likely to be the stars of Matchweek 1 are as follows-
Alexandre Lacazette-
The French striker will be the one to watch out for in the new season, as his current side Arsenal goes into clash with the former Premier League champions Leicester City in the very first match of the campaign. The player has been in prolific form in the last few years and will look to continue his good run in the new season as well, in a new league and with a new club. With the exclusion of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil from the team due to injury worries, the onus will be on him to score for Arsenal and lead them to victory.
Romelu Lukaku-
The Belgian striker was brought into the Manchester United side from their Premier League rivals Everton with a view to strengthening their attack for the next term. The player has been the most expensive transfer for the Red Devils this season and they will hope to see him fire in their very first match, as they go up against a resilient West Ham United in Matchweek 1.
Alvaro Morata-
The Spanish youngster has been the centre of attraction from a number of big name clubs from all over Europe, but finally the defending champions Chelsea got him into their team for the new season. However, it is still doubtful whether he will start for them in their first match against Burnley, with Michy Batshuyi waiting in the wings to start in the first team, as he did in the FA Community Shield match against Arsenal.
