Burnley have faced a huge blow this summer, having lost their mainstay in attack in the form of Andre Gray, who has signed for fellow Premier League rivals Watford for the new season. The Clarets are looking forward to start the season without Gray and are eyeing to bring in new players to strengthen the squad with the summer transfer market in its full swing.
It goes without saying that the presence of Gray in the strike force was very much imperative for the Clarets in the last term, as the England international played a big role, in saving the season for his former club and made them stay back in the top flight for one more season. However, he is finding players who can stabilize his midfield for this season and not make him regret his decision to let the England international leave Turf Moor.
One such player, Sam Clucas, has been eyed by Dyche to be brought into the side in the summer. The winger is currently playing for the Championship side Hull City and has earned a lot of praise for his performance in the last term.
The 26-year-old has been an integral part of the Tigers since his arrival at the club in 2015. He has played 94 matches for his current club and has made a good impression as a midfielder over the years. He made valiant efforts in the last term to stop his club from getting relegated from the top flight, however, became unsuccessful due to the lack of support from the other players, as Hull City ended their season in the 18th spot and made their way back into the Championship.
The English international has been known for his darting runs down the side of the field and into the attacking third. He is also a very strong passer of the ball, helping his teammates to get a good amount of assists in order to score goals for his team. He is also capable of striking the ball from a long distance and can also head the ball home from set piece situations. He is also known for his capability to hold onto the ball for a significant amount of time.
The English youngster played a prime role in the Hornets lineup but faced disappointment as the team was relegated. He will hope the same fate does not repeat itself, in case he joins the Clarets in the forthcoming days.
