Barcelona faced a disappointing season in the last campaign by their standards, as they had to go out of the Champions League in the quarter final stage, having been prolifically beaten by the Italian champions Juventus. They also faced ill fate in the Spanish La Liga, as their arch rivals Real Madrid dethroned them to win the competition for the 33rd time in their history.
With their only silverware coming in the form of the Copa Del Rey, Barcelona are determined to turn the fortune in their favour in the next term and make it a good season as per their benchmark. However, that ambition might take a tumble, as the Catalan club might have to let go of one of their most influential players apart from Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez, Neymar.
The Brazilian skipper, who has been one of the mainstays in the attacking line-up for the Catalan club since his arrival at Nou Camp in 2013, has reportedly been subject to one of the most sensational swoops in the recent years, which might see him join the French giants Paris Saint Germain in the summer transfer window. Speculations are rife that Neymar has already made it to Dubai for his medical ahead of the transfer, which will be taking place in the next few days.
The former Spanish La Liga champions are currently facing a period of crisis and might have to look towards one of their old recruits in order to maintain the strength of their attack, the player being Alexis Sanchez. The Chilean marksman, who was a part of the Spanish club till 2014, after which he joined the Premier League outfit Arsenal and has become a talisman for the team in the last few years.
Sanchez joined Barcelona in 2011 and was an integral part of the team under the tutelage of former manager Pep Guardiola, till he made his decision to leave the Blaugrana camp and move to the North London club. However, with the rumoured departure of the Brazilian captain, there might be a chance that the Catalan club might get the player back into their ranks to fill up the void left by one of their main attackers in the next term.
Reportedly, the Chilean player has not agreed to pen down a new contract in the last term and might be leaving the club in the summer. With only 12 months left on his contract, it might be possible for Sanchez to join Barcelona for the next season and help them regain their lost dominance in Spain as well as Europe.
