Barcelona have finally got themselves a new signing for the summer, with very less activity from them in the transfer window, Portuguese defender Nelson Semedo being their only major signing so far. Disappointment struck the former La Liga champions earlier as they had to let go of their prized possession, the Brazilian superstar Neymar, who went on to join the French giants Paris Saint Germain for a world record transfer fee.
The Catalan giants already had a pretty disappointing season in the last term by their high standards, having won their only silverware in the form of the Copa Del Rey. They lost their La Liga crown to arch rivals Real Madrid in the last season and were also knocked out of the Champions League by the Italian champions Juventus in the quarter final stage.
This season, however, the former Spanish champions will look to get their lost glory back and are willing to get a few new players into the team, who can be good enough to help the team in its pursuit. The Brazilian Paulinho, who has been playing in the Chinese Super League for the club Guangzhou Evergrande over the past few years, has been brought in to add flare to the side for the new season.
The 29-year-old has vast experience under his belt and has played for a number of teams around the world, including the Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur. He featured in 67 matches for the North London club before leaving for the Far East, as things did not work out in England. Paulinho scored only 10 goals along with 7 assists during his tenure with the Spurs.
In China, however, things took a positive turn and the player soon became an integral part of the team since his arrival in 2015. He turned a number of heads with his skills and scored 27 goals in 95 matches that he featured in with the Chinese outfit, making it one of his most successful spells in his career so far.
Paulinho is known for his tremendously energetic appearance on the field, helping his teammates to score goals and keep his team in advantage. His darting runs into the heart of the opposition defence along with his ability to take shots on the opposition goal from distance as well from close range make him a real menace for the opponents. He is also known to have a powerful header to go with his other skills and can become a valuable inclusion to the Catalan side for the new season.
