Manchester City have been playing well in their Pre season tour of the USA, beating some of the best European clubs like Tottenham Hotspur and Real Madrid in consecutive matches. Young players like Brahim Diaz and Phil Foden have played exceptionally well and have proved it to the football fraternity that the future of Manchester City is in safe hands.
However, another talented youngster from the same rank, who has been playing some good football over the last few months for the club and his country England as well, Jadon Sancho, was completely ignored by the current man in charge at the Etihad Stadium, Pep Guardiola, for the pre-season and was left behind, to the surprise of many.
Reportedly, there might have been some rift between the coach and the player, as the latter refused to pen down a new contract agreement. Though his current contract will see him stay back at the club till 2020, speculations are rife that the talented left winger might be on his way out of the Etihad Stadium in the next term.
This has irked a number of rival clubs from the Premier League as well as several European clubs, who are looking forward to bagging the 20-year-old sensation for the next season. As per sources, arch rivals of Manchester City, Manchester United are in pursuit of the English forward, who won the Best Player award in the Under 17 European Championships this year.
However, Arsenal might give tough competition to the Red Devils, as they are also much interested in bringing the player to the Emirates Stadium for the next term. The man in charge of the Gunners, Arsene Wenger, has been fond of young players throughout his managerial career and is a big fan of the English international, who scored seven goals in the Under 17 European Championships.
Arsenal have already made good progress in the summer transfer market, having already bagged two of the top class players in the form of Alexandre Lacazette and Sead Kolasinac from the French Ligue 1 club Lyon and the German Bundesliga outfit Schalke respectively. They are in pursuit of making it into the top four in the next term, which they failed to achieve in the last season for the first time since 1998.
The 20-year-old Englishman looks almost set to leave the Etihad in the summer. Now it is to be seen whether a move to Arsenal is possible for him or not in the forthcoming days and how it is going to benefit him and the club he goes to.
