West Ham United are looking forward to making their first signing of the summer and prepare a team which will be able to eradicate the problems that they faced in the last season during their campaign in the Premier League. The Hammers have been wary of the form of a number of their players and might also look to replace them with a few new ones this summer.
The West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic has been eyeing quite a few players to be introduced into his forward line, with both his spearheads in attack, Andy Carroll and Diafra Sakho not been able to perform as per expectations in the last term. Both the strikers have been out of form and might be offloaded by the Hammers given they get the right price for them this summer.
Among a number of players who are being eyed by Bilic to strengthen his forward line for the next season, one of the names right on the top of the list is that of the Englishman Andre Gray, who is currently playing for fellow Premier League side Burnley and has been one of the biggest influencers for their survival in the Premier League in the last season.
Reportedly, the striker has also been eyeing a move away from Turf Moor in the summer and has turned down a new contract offer to stay back with the Clarets for another season. The player has one more season left on his contract with Burnley and has irked a number of clubs from the Championship as well as the Premier League to bid for him during the transfer window.
The 26-year old has been one of the prime targets for the West Ham coach Slaven Bilic, who is well aware of the consequences of another bad season as the man in charge at the London Stadium and is looking to make immediate changes in his side to sharpen the attacking edge with the inclusion of players like Gray.
The 26-year-old striker, who has been labelled at £15m is one of the main transfer targets for the Hammers. He had made 26 Premier League appearances for his current club Burnley in the last season and scored nine goals to show for his efforts.
Apart from him, West Ham United are also keeping their tabs on French striker Olivier Giroud from Arsenal, out of favour Belgian starlet Michy Batshuayi from Chelsea and Nigerian speedster Kelechi Iheanacho from Manchester City for the next season.
