West Ham United are on the lookout for a top class striker, who can help them make the next season a good one from the perspective of results. They have a number of players on their target list, with the Austrian striker Marko Arnautovic right on the top of it.
The Hammers are looking poised to make a second bid for the player to be brought into the club, after Stoke City, who are the current possessors of the sturdy forward, turned down their first bid to bag the player for the next season. Slaven Bilic, the current coach of West Ham United, is a great admirer of the Stoke City forward and wants to bring him into his team to replace his current strikers Andy Carroll and Diafra Sakho, who have been far from their best form in the last season.
Reportedly, the 28-year-old Austrian striker is also looking forward to making a move out of the Bet365 Stadium in the summer, but it might not be possible as Stoke manager Mark Hughes is much dependent on him, and is looking to tie the marksman down until his contract ends in 2020.
As per sources, Arnautovic has handed a formal request to his club, demanding a transfer from his current club in the next season, after he faced rejection from Stoke City to make a move out of the club. He also held talks with his club manager Mark Hughes regarding his future with the Potters in the new season.
The Hammers are not looking to give up so easily on the 28-year-old player and might make an improved offer of around £20 million to unsettle the player at Stoke City and bag him for the next season. However, Mark Hughes is trying his level best to make his main man in attack stay back at the Bet365 Stadium, but might not be able to hold him for long if West Ham come in with the speculated bid to claim their desired candidate for the next season.
West Ham United have not done well in the last season and are looking to spend big in the summer transfer market in order to bring in a good striker for the next season, who can help them stabilise their attack. They are, reportedly, also eyeing the Mexican striker Javier Hernandez from Bayer Leverkusen, but might have to shun their interest and turn their focus towards the Premier League and Arnautovic, as Hernandez’s wage demands might prove to be quite costly for the club.
