West Bromwich Albion are looking to make the next season a good one for the fans and are looking to bring in players who can be able to turn the tables for them in the Premier League and make them achieve greater heights in the new season. They have already brought in England striker Jay Rodriguez from Southampton to strengthen their frontline and are now concentrating on revamping their midfield.
Tony Pulis, the man in charge at the Hawthorns, has been eyeing one of the most experienced players in the history of Premier League for the next season in the form of Gareth Barry. Reportedly, with a number of signings for the Toffees this summer, it is quite unlikely that the Englishman is going to get a place on a regular basis in the Everton line-up, and might be offloaded in the transfer window.
The Baggies, who have lost their midfielder and inspirational captain Darren Fletcher to Stoke City, are looking to make Barry their next potential target in order to use his experience to rebuild the squad for the next season and stabilise the midfield. The midfield has been a matter of serious concern for the Baggies coach and he is sure that Barry’s experience will come in handy for his side to make amends for the mistakes that they made in the last season.
The 36-year old has an envious record of playing in the Premier League and is fast closing in on the record of the Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs, who has played 632 matches in his career. He has made a great contribution to all the clubs he has played for so far, stabilising their midfield and scoring occasional goals for them as well.
Apart from West Brom, Burnley are also interested in the veteran midfielder, as they look forward to making this season a good one for them, getting some positive results under their belt. West Brom, however, will be looking to bag the player as early as possible, as Tony Pulis will be averse to leaving loopholes in the midfield to capitalise for the opponents to score goals and take advantage of their mistakes.
Barry has been a loyal servant for the England national team as well, having made 53 appearances for them. He won the FA Cup in 2011 and Premier League in 2012, both with Manchester City, after which he left to join Everton.
