Tottenham Hotspur are in pursuit of glory in the next season, after they missed out in the closing stages of the last season, with Chelsea winning the Premier League. Mauricio Pochettino, the man in charge of the Spurs, is looking forward to bring in players who will add to the value of the side he currently has at his disposal.
The Argentine mastermind might be interested in bringing in a midfielder who has been one of most highly regarded in the current scenario in the form of Croatian enforcer Mateo Kovacic. The 23-year-old is currently playing for the European champions Real Madrid for the last few seasons and has been looking to make a mark as a part of the starting XI but has failed to build his place in the plethora of stars that the Galacticos have at their disposal.
This has, reportedly, made the Croatian midfielder look for options that can help him become a part of the starting line-up on a regular basis. With Tottenham looking interested in bagging the player for the next season, there might be some hope for the enforcer to get into the starting line-up in the next term.
The midfielder has played 73 matches for the Spanish La Liga champions so far during his stay at the Santiago Bernabeu and has been able to lay his hands twice on the most highly rated silverware in European football, the UEFA Champions League with the Galacticos. However, he has been involved in occasional pieces of action for Los Blancos and might prefer to make a move out of the Bernabeu in the next term.
Reportedly, the Spanish La Liga champions might also be looking forward to letting go of quite a few players in the summer, one of them being the 23-year-old midfielder. As per sources, the Galacticos are looking forward to bring in the French wonder kid Kylian Mbappe into their line-up for the next season and might offload Kovacic as a part of their plan to arrange for the cash, with the transfer deal to be poised to reach a figure over the £100 million mark.
Kovacic, on the other hand, might be a valuable inclusion in the Spurs side, giving their midfield a different dimension and securing it from relentless attacks. His ability to vie for the ball in the middle of the pitch and keep it in possession for a significant amount of time can also come in handy for the Premier League side to come out on the top of their opponents.
