Tottenham Hotspur are looking to build on their brilliant performance in the last term, making the next term an even more successful one for them in terms of results, and reach their dream destination of winning the Premier League. Mauricio Pochettino, the current man in charge at Spurs, is looking to bring in new players into the team to strengthen it even further.
Spurs have been looking forward to bring in a number of quality young players, who might be able to uplift the squad in the coming days with their pace and prowess. One of them is the English youngster Jadon Sancho, who is currently playing for fellow Premier League club Manchester City and is considered to be a star of the future in European football.
Tottenham have always been dependent on youth, with Pochettino looking to nurture them and bring the best out of the youngsters and turn them into future superstars. One of the best examples is the present Welsh skipper and one of the most celebrated forwards of world football Gareth Bale, who redeveloped his career from playing as a left back in the Tottenham ranks and played for a significant amount of time at the North London club before making a move to the current Spanish La Liga champions.
The 17-year-old has been one of the brightest young talents and has been a regular in the under 17 squad for England. He played a very important role for his team at the international level in their last outing during the under-17 European tournament held recently in the month of May.
The player has been targeted by a number of Premier League clubs, including both the North London city rivals Arsenal and Tottenham, who are vying to bring the youngster into their ranks for the next season. However, Manchester City might not be willing to let go of their starlet in the forthcoming season, as they are also looking forward to tying him down with a new contract.
Sancho’s current contract is ending in 2020 and Manchester City wants him to stay with them beyond that as well. However, the 17-year old English international has declined to sign a new contract with the Citizens and might be looking to play for a team which might hand him opportunities to play with their senior side in the next season.
Reportedly, Tottenham had already tried to put a bid on the table for bagging the forward for the next season, to see it rejected by the Citizens.
