Swansea City have been one of the teams in the last season to suffer a bad turn of fate, which saw them ending their season almost in the relegation zone and slip down into the Championship. However, they managed to finish their season in the 15th position in the Premier League, helping themselves survive for one more term in the top flight.
The Welsh club are now in the pursuit of players who can bring them some glory in the next term and not make it as bad as the last one. One such player is Andy Yiadom, who currently is playing for the Championship side Barnsley.
The 25-year-old is one of the most highly regarded players playing in a full back position in the current situation and has attracted interest from a number of clubs from the Championship as well the Premier League, including the likes of Swansea City and newcomers Huddersfield Town.
The Ghanaian international burst onto the scene in the last term after he joined the Tykes in 2016, featuring in 33 matches throughout the season to make a solid impression as a full back. His darting runs into the heart of the opposition defence and pinpoint passing to feed his teammates, providing them opportunities to score goals has made him one of the best right wing backs in the current situation playing in English football.
Swansea City, who have been looking forward to revamping their side for the next term, are already trying their level best to bring in the youngster to stabilise the backline. The man in charge at the Liberty Stadium, Paul Clement, has been monitoring the Ghanaian international for quite a long time and is now looking to make a bid to bring in the player for the next season.
The Tykes have reportedly rejected a series of bids from Huddersfield Town, which amounted to something around £2 million to bag the player in the previous season. However, they might not be able to reject the bid from Swansea City, which is reported to be around £3 million to bring in Yiadom for the next term.
Swansea City are well aware of the fact that the 25-year-old has only one more year left on his contract and are looking to take advantage of the situation, hoping that the Ghanaian player does not pen down a new one with his current club Barnsley in the coming days.
