Rangers have been making a number of heads turn with their incredible pace in the current summer transfer window in order to revamp their squad for the next season. They have completed nine signings so far in the season and are looking to do more business in the coming days, having targeted a few more players to be brought into the squad for the next season.
One of the players who has been on the top of the target list for the Rangers to be brought into their squad to strengthen it is the Scottish international Jamie Walker, who has been playing currently for the Premiership club Hearts in their midfield. The 23-year-old has been a long time target for the Rangers and they have already submitted bids in order to bag the player from his current club, which has been rejected by Hearts twice in a row.
However, the midfielder, who prefers to play on the left wing, is not too interested in staying back at Hearts and reportedly has rejected an offer from the Edinburgh club to tie him down for the next three years.
It is being speculated that the Scottish midfielder might be on his way to sign a pre-season contract with a new club in December. If it happens, then Hearts will be due for a training compensation for Walker, who has been a product of their academy.
Walker has been one of the most influential players for the Hearts side since his arrival in the senior side and last season, he was at the top of his game. He scored 15 goals throughout the season, in which he appeared in 39 matches for his side.
The 23-year-old has been a real livewire in the midfield and has been doing all the running and passing whenever the ball is at his disposal. It goes without saying that he is going to be missed by his club manager Ian Cathro if he makes the decision to go out of the club in the next season.
While speculations are rife that the midfielder is averse to spending any more time at the Tynecastle Park, it is not quite clear whether he will be looking to join Rangers in the next term or not. However, his disagreement for penning a new three year deal with Hearts might have a hope in it for Rangers to make him wear the club colours for the new season.
