Newcastle United are trying their level best to revamp their team for the next season, including players who have been performing well for their respective clubs throughout the last few terms, in order to challenge the big name clubs in the Premier League and justify their return to top flight football in the right way.
However, they have been able to bring in Florian Lejeune as their only major signing from the Spanish La Liga side Eibar to steady their defence and are looking for a player who can be an ideal partner for him in the backline for the new season.
Reportedly, the Magpies are looking forward to bring in Harold Voyer from Paris Saint Germain to strengthen their team for the next term, and are on their way to build a good defensive line-up. The current boss of the Newcastle side, Rafa Benitez, is determined to rope in the young player for the next season, as he is more inclined towards having young legs on the pitch for his side.
Voyer, the 20-year-old defender has been one of the most highly regarded young players in the French Ligue 1 competition in the last few seasons. The player, however, has not made any appearances for the senior side, but has good experience with the youth side and has played for them quite a few times throughout the last few terms.
The French youngster is known for his composed display in the backline and has good ball control. The player is also known for his ability to clear the ball and make tackles to dispossess his opponents off the ball. He can also keep significant possession of the ball for a long time and can also provide long passes into the midfield to initiate attacks. He has a strong header which can be really handy to avert imminent danger from the opposition strikers who are lurking on the ball.
The defender has made a name for himself at the youth level and possesses skills to mesmerise the opponent players. The Magpies are sure that the inclusion of the player in their team might be good enough for them to make amends for the defensive mistakes that they had committed over time, as they won’t be looking to move back into the Championship in the next season again.
It has not been a good summer transfer window for the Magpies so far. However, the Spanish coach of the side, Rafa Benitez, is quite positive about his team’s future in the Premier League.
