Manchester City have made some good signings in the summer and are looking determined to make the next term a good one in terms of results for them. They failed to bag even one major trophy in the whole of the last season and ended on the third spot on the League table, which ensured a place for them in the Champions League for the next season.
The Citizens have brought in some good players in the form of Portuguese midfielder Bernardo Silva from the French Ligue Champions AS Monaco, Brazilian goalkeeper Ederson from the Portuguese champions Benfica, English right back Kyle Walker from fellow Premier League club Tottenham, who secured the runner up position in the last term and Brazilian full back Danilo from the present Champions League winners Real Madrid, with a view to strengthen the side for the next season.
However, the name right on the top of their target list, the Arsenal attacker Alexis Sanchez, has not yet been approached by the Citizens formally so far in the summer.
It looked quite sure that the Chilean marksman will be joining Manchester City for the next term, with the player reportedly denying to pen down a new contract at his current club Arsenal and looking to make a move to the Etihad Stadium. However, with the Citizens not showing any movement to bag the player for the next season, it seems that they might not feel the urge to sign him right now.
The 28-year-old has been one of the stars of the show for the Gunners since his arrival in 2014 and he has been performing consistently over the last few years for them. However, the lack of results coming their way, which has denied them to get a hand on any major silverware except the FA Cup in the recent past, has reportedly frustrated the Chilean marksman so much so that he wants out of the Emirates Stadium and is preferring a move to Manchester City in the next season.
Reportedly, Bayern Munich are also interested in bagging the player for the next season, but now both clubs seem to have withdrawn their interest in signing the player this summer.
However, it is not quite sure whether Manchester City will also be going for him, with the likes of Gabriel and Aguero already at their disposal. Manchester City team management might be of the opinion that they have got enough firepower and the addition of another striker will not be a wise choice. So should Sanchez still be a target for City?
