After finishing in the fourth place in the points table, Liverpool who have qualified for the Champions League, are desperate to add some quality to their first team, to make sure that they are ready for the challenges next season. Jurgen Klopp is looking to bring in some top class players to the club but is also keeping an eye out for youngsters around Europe, who can help the squad in the long run.
There are a number of teenagers linked with a move to Anfield this summer and one player now extensively linked with the club is Sebastian Szymanski.
A relatively unknown lad from Poland, Szymanski was born and brought up in Biala Podlaska, Poland. He is a product of the Legia Warsaw Academy, one of the best in his country, and is now standing as one of the most exciting youngsters on show in the country.
He broke into the senior squad at Legia just last season and scored his first senior goal in a Champions League qualification game recently. He made 11 senior appearances in the domestic league for Warsaw, picking up one goal, but he has shown great promise, which has seen Liverpool scout for him, for more than six months now.
According to reports from the Sun, Klopp has kept a close eye on the 18-year old and is ready to add him to his squad this summer. However, he is not expected to be at Anfield as yet and could be loaned out for the long term, back to his home country.
An attacking midfielder, who can play through the middle or as a winger on the right flank, Szymanski is known for his pace and dribbling abilities. He can get past his man with ease, and is almost impossible to stop, when in full flow.
At just 18, he has to work on his strength a lot while his finishing abilities also need polishing. But he is a hard working player, who wants to make an impact every time he is on the field and this is what will attract Klopp this summer.
Though he is yet to represent his national side, Szymanski has been terrific for the Poland U19 side and is not too far away from a senior side call up. At just 18, he will get better as a player and as an athlete and Liverpool will want this versatile player to be on their books for the next few seasons.
He has already started his domestic season in Poland and Klopp might want to wait for a game or two, to make sure that he has what it takes, to excel at Anfield. Do you think Szymanski can be an option in the long term for Liverpool?
