Hull City are extremely close to a significant signing for the new season in the form of Liverpool midfielder Kevin Stewart who has left the team to finalise his move.
Reportedly, the player has been included in the roster of the Tigers for the next Championship season after a transfer fee of £8 million was agreed to be paid for the 23-year-old Englishman, who has been a part of the Liverpool side since 2014.
The deal is, as per sources, the part of a swap move, which saw the Hull City left back Andy Robertson go on to join the Merseyside club for a transfer fee of £10 million in the summer transfer window.
Kevin Stewart has played 20 matches so far for the Liverpool senior side and has been considered to be one of the future stars for them, However, the player is going to join Hull City in the next term in order to gain some much needed first team experience in the second tier of English football.
Hull City have been looking forward to a good season in the Championship after they were relegated from the top flight in the last term. The Tigers have not been able to get their hands on any significant signings before Stewart but had to let go of an array of players including the likes of Harry Maguire, Tom Huddlestone, Josh Tymon and Eldin Jakupovic in the last term.
This signing is supposed to make the Tigers strong in the midfield, with the English youngster acting as a defensive shield in front of the backline to avert imminent dangers of vicious attack from the opposing sides.
Stewart is known for his diligent style of play, which might favour him in the long season of Championship football. He is also known for his physical presence in the middle of the pitch, going into tussles with the opposition players and dispossessing them off the ball via clean tackles.
Stewart has played in the past for teams like Cheltenham Town, Burton Albion and Swindon Town and thus can use that experience while playing in the second tier for Hull City. The new man in charge for the Tigers, Leonid Slutsky will also be very happy to get the player in his lineup, so as to strengthen his squad for the next season. The English enforcer will also be very happy to make a contribution in the next season and get his side back into the top flight.
