Everton have made a number of top class inclusions to their side in the summer transfer window and have splashed the cash to make seven signings already for their upcoming season. However, it is not that the Toffees are giving up as of yet and are poised to bring a few more players into the side.
The Merseyside club made early inroads in the transfer market this summer and brought in a number of players, including the likes of Davy Klaassen from Ajax, Jordan Pickford from Sunderland, Wayne Rooney from Manchester United, Henry Onyekuru from Eupen, Cuco Martina from Southampton, Michael Keane from Burnley and Sandro Ramirez from Malaga. However, the Toffees are far from ending their spending spree right now and are looking forward to rope in the French marksman Loic Remy from current Premier League champions Chelsea.
Remy hasn’t been able to build on the initial promise after bursting onto the scene and might want to go out with a flourish with a big move in the Premier League. His move to Chelsea was treated with much fanfare.
However, the French marksman has been constantly out of favour for the Blues. In fact, in the last season, the forward was sent on loan to Crystal Palace. However, he was largely kept on the bench at Selhurst Park as well, making only eight appearances throughout the season for the Eagles.
It is imperative for the Toffees to find a striker for the next term, who can be a good replacement for their Belgian star Romelu Lukaku, who went on to join Manchester United in the summer, leaving a huge void in the attacking front for the Merseyside club. Though they already have signed the Spanish striker Sandro Ramirez from Malaga, his inexperience of playing in the Premier League might go against him in the next season, with Everton needing someone who has a rich experience of playing in the Premier League. In this situation, Remy can be the perfect fit to the bill for the Toffees.
Remy was a regular for the Blues in the seasons prior to the last two, contributing largely to the success of the team. The Frenchman scored 12 goals in his 47 appearances for the West London club and was a crucial part of their Premier League winning team in the 2014/15 season. That record might come to the rescue of the striker that might speak in his favour in case Everton looks to mark him as their next target in the summer transfer market.
