Everton are looking for a major revamping of their side in the next season and are currently on a spending spree which has seen seven players being included in the side for the next term, including the likes of Wayne Rooney, Davy Klaassen, Jordan Pickford, Michael Keane, Cuco Martina, Henry Onyekuru and Sandro Ramirez. The Toffees, however, are not only looking to strengthen their senior side but are also looking forward to bring in players into their youth side who can become stars of the future.
Reportedly, the Merseyside club have their eyes on the youngster from Sheffield United, David Brooks, who has been one of the brightest young talents in English football. The 20-year-old has attracted attention with his skills and has been representing his country at the Under 20 level on a regular basis.
The young attacking midfielder’s pace and prowess have made him an asset for his current club and has attracted a number of clubs to make a bid for him in the summer. Brooks winning the Best Player Award at the recently concluded Under-20 Toulon tournament is evident of the fact that he is fast becoming one of the players who can make a mark in the future in English football.
The current man in charge at Goodison Park, Ronald Koeman has always been known for his benevolent nurturing of the young players and turning them into stars of tomorrow through his tutelage. In the case of Brooks, it will nevertheless be a great opportunity for the player to turn himself into one of the more mature players under the watchful eye of the Dutch manager and become one of best players in the whole of Europe in a few years time, in case he decides to join the Merseyside club.
Though the Toffees have a profound interest in the player, they are not making any premature decision to bring in the 20-year-old player from the Sheffield United Under 21 side in the next term only. They want to their time in monitoring the player properly, keep an eye on his progress through the ranks and might then be making a bid to bag the player.
The English youngster is known to being monitored by not only clubs in England, but also by clubs from all over Europe. One such club is the German Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig, who are reportedly monitoring the situation of the player and might be looking to bring in the player very soon to join to their youth side.
