Everton are looking to get in shape with their new look team, as they have won their first competitive match against Slovakian club MFK Ruzomberok in the UEFA Europa League third qualifying round first leg. However, the Toffees are still looking very much active in the transfer market, looking to bring in new players and make their ninth signing of the summer.
Reportedly, the Merseyside club are showing grave interest in bagging the Czech Republic international Jakub Jankto, who currently plays for the Italian club Udinese. The 21-year-old has been one of the players who have made a name for themselves in the last term in the Serie A and is poised to receive offers from a number of clubs from Italy as well as from all over Europe.
The 21-year-old prefers to play a central role and has impressed a lot in the last season with his skills for the Italian outfit. Prior to the last season, the Czech Republic international made a season long appearance for the Serie B team Ascoli and also impressed in all the 35 matches he featured in, eventually earning a first team place in the last term at Udinese.
His cool and composed style of play has been good enough to attract the interest of a number of clubs including Everton, who are looking to bring in new and young players to rebuild their team for the next season. The youngster made 30 appearances for his club in the last term and showed strong determination and character to stabilize the midfield. He also scored 5 goals for Udinese in the last term and also ended the season with 4 assists to his name.
Everton, who have already brought in eight players so far this season, the last one being defender Lewis Gibson, are looking forward to making amends for the mistakes of the last season and are eyeing a spot in the top four in the league table. Their coach, Ronald Koeman, has a particular liking for young talents to be brought into the team and has been eyeing to bring in quite a few for the next season.
However, Udinese are reportedly not willing to let go of the talented youngster, who is under contract with them till 2021. The 21-year-old Czech Republic midfielder has been eyed as one of the stars of the future and has been attracting interests from big name clubs like Juventus and Roma from the Serie A and Arsenal from Premier League apart from the Toffees.
