Chelsea are looking forward to making the next season as successful as the last one for them in the Premier League and are keen to strengthen the squad in the summer by bringing in new players who will help them defend their title successfully in the next term.
The Blues will also be facing some of the biggest clubs in Europe in their pursuit of glory in the Champions League, and are in search of players who will give them that edge over their opponents.
The West London club have already made fresh recruitments in their squad for the next season in the form of German defender Antonio Rudiger from the Italian Serie A club Roma and French enforcer Tiemoue Bakayoko from the French Ligue 1 champions AS Monaco, which is definitely going to strengthen their team for the next season.
However, to their disappointment, they missed out on the Belgian star Romelu Lukaku, with the Everton striker snubbing the Blues to join the Red Devils in a last-minute switch. This has left the defending champions vulnerable in the attacking front, with their star striker Diego Costa not in the plans of their current coach Antonio Conte for the next term.
As per sources, the Blues, who are in desperate need of a striker, have shifted their focus towards Spain, with their target being the Atletico Madrid star Yannick Carrasco. The Belgian has been one of the most interesting young prospects in Europe at the current moment and can be a valuable addition to the roster for Chelsea in the forthcoming season.
The 23-year-old has been in great form in the last season, scoring 14 goals for Atletico and making sure that his team finishes in the top four on the League table in the Spanish La Liga. The Belgian starlet has been superb in his display of skills on the pitch and is considered to be one of the future stars in European football.
Diego Simeone, the man in charge at Vicente Calderon has been very pleased with the youngster and looks forward to using him more often as his main man aside Antoine Greizmann in the next term.
However, an offer from Chelsea might be alluring enough for Carrasco to make a move out of the Spanish capital in the next season. Reportedly, the Blues have already tabled a five year long deal for the Belgian striker and are also ready to offer him a hike in his wages if he chooses to go to the West London club.
