Real Madrid might be on their way to break their bond with their Colombian forward James Rodriguez, with an option to let go of the player in the summer to join the Premier League.
With a number of big-name clubs including the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United being interested in getting the influential forward in their ranks for the next season, it is quite imminent that the Galacticos are ready to listen to offers in excess of £50 million for the Colombian skipper from the potential suitors.
The left-footed player, who made a name for himself in the 2014 World Cup with his sensational display of skills and power, was signed by the Spanish champions in 2015 and was one of the most influential players in his first season at the Bernabeu.
However, with the arrival of the Welsh captain Gareth Bale into the team, the importance for the Colombian international started to decrease and reached at its lowest in the last season, where he made only 22 appearances under the current coach Zinedine Zidane.
The Colombian tried to make most of the chances that came his way in the last season and scored eight times along with contributing with six crucial assists.
However, it was not good enough to impress the French manager, and he was much more inclined towards using the in-form Spanish attacker Isco with his talismanic forward Cristiano Ronaldo and French marksman Karim Benzema, who made the season one of the most remarkable ones for the Galacticos in the recent times, winning both the Champions League as well as the Spanish La Liga for them.
Reportedly, Chelsea, who have recently lost the race in their pursuit for the Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku to arch rivals Manchester United, are not willing to lose out again to the same opponent in the pursuit of James Rodriguez and are trying their level best to bring in the Colombian attacker this summer.
The West London club, who are already in line to sign two of the top players in the form of midfield enforcer Tiemoue Bakayoko from French Champions AS Monaco and defender Antonio Rudiger from Italian giants AS Roma, are looking ahead to a season of heavy football action, as they will be playing in the Champions League and will be defending their Premier League title, and are in dire need of players who can lead their attack, as their main striker Diego Costa is also set to leave Stamford Bridge in the next season.
