Chelsea have been looking forward to continuing their good run in the next season as well, having won the Premier League for the sixth time in their history. They will also have the added responsibility of playing in the Champions League against some of the biggest clubs in Europe in the next season and are looking to bring in players who can give them the much-needed impetus to get on the top of their opponent teams throughout the next term.
However, it has not been a very pleasant transfer window so far, as Chelsea lost their battle to fierce rivals Manchester United to land the Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku for the next season. The Everton striker, who was the second highest goal scorer in the Premier League last season, was almost settled to join the Blues. The deal was hijacked in the eleventh hour and the Red Devils brought in their desired player for a whopping £75 million.
Having lost their battle for Lukaku, the West London club is now looking desperate to rope in a top class striker, who can replace their top scorer from the last season, Diego Costa. The Spanish forward has reportedly been told by the current man in charge at Stamford Bridge, Antonio Conte, that he is not looking to build his team with Costa as the main marksman in it, and therefore, he is free to leave the club in the summer.
The Italian mastermind, who had a very successful season in his very first term in charge of the West London club, is reportedly looking to bring in fellow countryman Andrea Belotti from Torino to play as his first choice striker for the next season. The forward has been one of the most highly regarded marksmen from the last season and has attracted a lot of interest from a number of clubs around Europe.
The 23-year-old player has been one of the best strikers in the Serie A last season, notching up 26 goals throughout the term for his club Torino. Chelsea have been looking forward to include the player to their roster this summer, with the prolific striker being priced at £88 million by Torino for the summer transfer window.
Given his hefty price tag, the Italian marksman has been one player who can be banked upon by Chelsea in the next season. He can score goals from the distance as well as from close range and also provide assists for his teammates. Undoubtedly, he can be a good option to perfectly fit the bill for Conte.
