Chelsea, though, a bit late, have started their business in the summer transfer market with a bang and have brought in one of the best strikers in Europe in the form of Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid. They have also roped in one of the most highly regarded enforcers in the current situation in the form of Tiemoue Bakayoko from the French Champions AS Monaco to stabilise their midfield for the next season.
However, the Blues are not looking to take the foot off the gas at the moment and have got their eyes on someone who can play as a right wing back in the team, so as to give an edge to the attack as well as defend the backline. One such player, who might be a part of the Chelsea line-up for the next season is the Italian winger Antonio Candreva.
The 30-year-old is currently one of the most highly regarded midfielders in the current situation and has an ominous record under his belt while playing for a number of big name clubs throughout his career so far. He has played for an array of clubs in the Italian Serie A, including the likes of Lazio, Parma, Udinese and Juventus and has made over 400 appearances so far.
If the Italian winger makes a move to the West London club, this will be the first time that he will be playing for an English club in his entire career so far. However, it will not be a very unfamiliar place for him, with the former coach of his national team, Antonio Conte currently in charge of the Premier League outfit.
The former Juventus manager has been on the prowl to bag the 30-year-old winger from Inter Milan for quite some time. He tried his hand at making a bid to land Candreva during the last transfer window in January as well, trying to bring him in to use as a right wing back in his 3-4-3 combination, which he implemented in the last season. However, he was unsuccessful in his endeavour but might look to make a revised effort to bag the player for the summer once again.
It is quite unlikely for the Italian outfit to let go of their prized possession in the summer transfer window, who is having a price tag of £23 million on him. However, it might not be a problem for the cash-rich West London outfit to bid for the player and bring in him for the next season.
