Mark Hughes has a very tough decision to make over the future of Bojan Krkic. The 26-year-old playmaker has fallen in the pecking order and was ultimately shipped out on loan to Mainz for the second part of last season.
In the midst of speculations, Bojan has returned to the club and has also participated in the last two friendlies. But according to reports, a host of clubs including the likes of Real Betis, Las Palmas and Valencia are interested in the player.
Bojan arrived at the Premier League from Barcelona and his arrival had created a massive buzz amongst the fans. But things soon started to go downhill as the player had to be sidelined after a number of injuries and following his injury spell, he failed to gather the required momentum.
He was supposed to be the flag bearer for Mark Hughes side but in this three-year span, he has mostly disappointed although Mark Hughes is ready to give the player another chance in a hope to resurrect his career.
Let us take a look at 3 clubs where he could possibly move to in case a transfer is the order of the day.
Tottenham Hotspur
Mauricio Pochettino can get the best out of a talented player and Bojan has that potential in him to thrive under the Argentine. Being a product of the famous La Masia academy, the player could be an important player.
Pochettino’s style is mainly based on possession and precision and having been trained at the Barcelona academy, it would take little time for Bojan to acclimatise with the conditions.
Bojan’s ability is tempting but he hasn’t done enough in his senior career for a big club to come calling. But the idea of combining him with Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen sounds very tempting. He can operate from just behind the main striker and can also be deployed on both flanks.
Celtic
A move to the Scottish side might be a surprising but a feasible move. The 26-year-old might be in the plans of Mark Hughes next season but if any club approaches with the right intent, the Potters might offload him.
Celtic had a brilliant last season as they claimed the domestic treble. But Brendan Rodgers wants to replicate his form of the last season and Bojan might be the missing jigsaw in the puzzle in Europe. He could form a deadly combination with French sensation Moussa Dembele at the Celtic Park.
Middlesbrough
Lack of first team action has been a concern for Bojan and if things go like this he would certainly opt for a move and Middlesbrough could be one of his destinations.
Newly appointed Garry Monk has been looking for an upgrade on Patrick Bamford and Rudy Gestede and Bojan could be an ideal solution for him.
