Chelsea starlet Izzy Brown is on the transfer list of newly promoted Brighton & Hove Albion. The youngster was with Huddersfield Town last season and has been quite a sensation for the Terriers.
Brown is unlikely to feature for Chelsea as Antonio Conte is preparing for the upcoming season. It is understood the manager is not convinced with the player’s capacity as of now and wants to watch the player for another season before taking a decision.
Brown has signed a new contract with the Stamford Bridge outfit but he is unlikely to be inducted to the Chelsea starting lineup. The West London club has a very strict regime for all the loanees and it seems Brown has to spend another season away from his parent club.
Brown first hogged the attention during his stint with Rotherham United. The forward netted three goals and assisted further five for the Championship outfit. His excellent display for the club prompted Huddersfield Town to make a move for the player on loan. The player continued his brilliant run as he went on to score four times in the Championship.
Huddersfield were also very eager to take the player again on loan but the Terriers have already sealed a move for Kasey Palmer and according to Premier League rules, they won’t be able to engineer a move for him.
Brighton are currently the front runners to land the youngster. Chris Hughton has his plans to stay afloat in the Premier League and it will be a very tough task to achieve. He may have to dig deep in the transfer market and Brown would be a very reliable option.
He came through the ranks of Chelsea but has made only one appearance for the Blues. Despite a lot of interest in the player, it seems that Brighton are the ones in the hot seat and will confirm the deal in the coming days.
Brown is set to follow the footsteps of Tammy Abraham who signed a new deal and later joined Swansea City on loan. Brown was an influential part of Huddersfield’s promotional battle as the Terriers won the Championship playoffs and will make their first ever appearance in the English top tier.
Chelsea have produced a talented bunch of youngsters, namely, Tammy Abraham, Nathaniel Chalobah and Brown who have been in the headlines with their superior performances. They are definitely going to have a bright future but it remains to be seen how Chelsea prefers to use them.
