West Ham United have been under tremendous amount of pressure from their fans to perform well in the forthcoming after a dismal one in the last one in the Premier League. Their manager, Slaven Bilic, who has been given an extension of one more year needs to make it a memorable season in terms of results for his club, otherwise, he is sure to come under the axe.
Keeping that in mind, the Croatian manager has been trying his level best to bring in players who can prove to be crucial in delivering positive results for the club. The attacking front has especially been a problematic area for the Hammers throughout the recently concluded season, with both their main men up front, Diafra Sakho and Andy Carroll, failing to impress on the pitch.
With both of them meant to be let go by the club, West Ham is looking to make it big in the transfer market this summer by bringing in a top class striker who will help them to turn the tide in their favour in the next season.
Among a number of players who have been considered to fill the void up front for the Hammers, the name right on top of the list for the Premier League club is that of the young marksman Bertrand Traore, who has been playing for Ajax on loan from present Premier League champions Chelsea. He has been one of the players for the Dutch club to take it to the final of Europa League last season and also finish at the second spot on the league table in the Dutch Eredivisie.
Traore was sent on loan by his club Chelsea for some good first team exposure and have had plenty of it with Ajax before returning to the defending champions of the Premier League this summer. However, it is quite unlikely that he will be staying with the Blues for another season and is looking to head to another club which will give him more first team exposure rather than make him sit on the bench.
His performances have been good enough to attract a number of clubs who are willing to sign him for the next season. Among them, German clubs Borussia Monchengladbach and Schalke, along with French clubs Lille and Lyon and Premier League clubs Everton and West Ham United are the frontrunners to sign the 21-year-old striker.
Traore scored nine goals in 24 appearances for Ajax this season and can be a good inclusion in the West Ham side in the summer.
