Juventus midfielder Mario Lemina has been linked with a move all the way to the Premier League with Watford expressing their interest in the player. The Hornets are very keen to strike a deal with the Turin-based side and are ready to offer as much as €20m for the midfielder.
After struggling throughout last season, the Hornets are ready to make some changes in their side as they are preparing for life in the Premier League for at least another season. Watford appointed Marco Silva as their manager after Walter Mazzarri departed Vicarage Road.
Lemina has gotten frustrated with his limited game time for the Italian champions. He has been restricted to a mere 19 appearances in the Serie-A and has issued an ultimatum to the club regarding his future.
The Gabon international arrived at Turin from Marseille in 2015 and has been part of a very successful campaign. But he is worried over his participation in the next season as the Italian champions are set to welcome a set of players and the midfielder thinks it is the right time for a move.
He had earlier hinted he might have to leave Juventus in search of regular football and Watford can certainly offer him that. The Hornets have had their problems in the middle of the pitch in terms of creativity and Lemina could surpass their expectation.
Arsenal and Everton have also reportedly monitored the player’s situation. Both the teams are currently short of options in the centre of the park and the addition of a young energetic midfielder will boost their chances in the upcoming season.
But Watford are very keen to make a move for the player. Lemina already expressed his delight having been linked with a number of Premier League clubs and it might have triggered the attention of the Italian champions who are expected to have a chat with him very soon over his future.
The player has three years left on his contract so the Hornets needs to do a bit of convincing to land the player. Lemina has a stout figure and a solid physical presence. He has often been likened to his former teammate Paul Pogba and would be able to face the French player should he decide to move.
Juventus will be willing to listen to offers as Lemina is seemingly surplus to their requirements. If the Hornets want to complete this deal they have to match up to the Italian side’s demands.
