Watford have managed to stay for one more season in the Premier League after finishing the last term in the 17th position, just escaping relegation by a whisker. However, this season, the Hornets are looking to make a good start and are eyeing a number of players who can help to turn the tide in their favour in the forthcoming days.
The new manager of Watford, Marco Silva, has been looking to make several changes in the existing side and give his team a fresh new look for the next season, boosting the team’s spirit to a new height. Among a number of players who are being monitored to be brought into the side in the next season, one name which is right on the top of the priority list for the Hornets is that of the Juventus goalkeeper, Neto.
The Brazilian has been playing for the Bianconeri since 2015 but has to sit on the bench for most of the time with the legendary Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon on the forefront for most of their outings in the Italian Serie A as well as the Champions League. This has reportedly frustrated the 27-year-old, who is looking to sign for a club which can offer him a place in the starting line-up in the forthcoming season.
Reportedly, the Hornets are looking to make a bid for the Brazilian shot-stopper for the next season, who has been valued at £8 million by the Italian champions. Neto is under contract with the Bianconeri till 2019 and is eyeing a move away from Turin to have a considerable number of games under his belt in the next season.
Watford had a very bad season defensively, with their current goalkeeper Huerhelho Gomes conceding 64 goals in 38 matches in the last term in the Premier League. It goes without saying that the new coach Marco Silva will be far from entrusting him with a job between the sticks for the new season, as he is eyeing to bring in his compatriot Neto to replace him as the goalkeeper for his side.
Although the 27-year-old has not got the chance to play for his club very often, that has not been able to decrease the interest of quite a few clubs from all over Europe. Apart from Watford, the Brazilian shot-stopper has been eyed by clubs like the Italian giants Napoli and Spanish La Liga club Valencia, who want him as a part of their side for the next season.
