Alberto Moreno- The Spaniard is a sure goner from the Anfield this season. Following yet another season on the bench, where he could manage only 12 league appearances, it is best he seeks opportunities elsewhere. What’s worse is his inaction at any level. Him being the second choice has led him to stay on the bench rather than play for the Under 23s even. Since joining the Reds three years back, Moreno has managed only 72 games in all competitions, where he could score only three goals and assist five times.
At 24, he still has a lot of time to get his career back on track and make himself capable of playing in the national team. With the World Cup knocking on the door, Moreno has to do something and fast. He has managed just three caps since making his debut in 2013 when he was one of the exciting prospects.
Mamadou Sakho- The most controversial player in the Liverpool squad last season. His rift with the club and mainly the boss Jurgen Klopp led him to either play for the under-age side or sit on the bench for the full first half of the season, while in the second half he became a fan favourite with some phenomenal displays for Crystal Palace on loan.
His talent is undeniable and Liverpool’s defensive crisis could be solved easily, but for Klopp’s restrained approach. Liverpool have been blasphemous defensively the last term, with Klopp finding it hard to get a partner for Joel Matip in the central defence. However, Klopp has decided to dispose of him and given his magnificent second half displays, he will have no shortage of suitors.
Daniel Sturridge- What a waste of talent Sturridge has been! The agile and savvy forward could have been Liverpool’s deadliest weapon, but instead, he has been their biggest liability. Since joining Liverpool back in 2012, the English striker has missed a whopping 86 games over the last five years. Last season itself, he missed 11 games and his form dipped as a consequence.
In the 27 games, he managed to play for the Reds in all competitions Sturridge managed just seven goals and three assists. However, it doesn’t reflect his abilities as we are all evident to his prolific partnership with Luis Suarez back in 2013-14 season when he scored 22 goals in 29 League games.
However, he doesn’t seem to be in Klopp’s plans anymore who has perfect false number 9s in Roberto Firmino, Divock Origi and the latest acquisition of Dominic Solanke from Chelsea.
