Everton are set to make a windfall from the sale of Romelu Lukaku as Chelsea are ready to launch a world record bid for the Belgian forward which might exceed £80m. Antonio Conte is set to make him one of the highest-paid players in the Premier League and it is evident that the player will leave Goodison Park.
Everton have been demanding in the range of £100m but Chelsea are confident they can agree to a deal which is within their reach. Lukaku is expected to lead the line for the Blues next season as they will be competing in a number of competitions including the Champions League.
Lukaku turned down a new lucrative £140,000 a week offer to try his chances with the English champion as he thinks he will have realistic chances to win silverware which is not possible at the moment at the Goodison Park.
Ronald Koeman would be lining up a number of possible replacements for him.
Diego Costa
The ex-Atletico Madrid striker is hunting for a new club and Everton could swap him for Lukaku. The Spaniard is far better than Lukaku in terms of being effective and Koeman should embrace this opportunity to rope him to the Merseyside.
Costa has a decisive physical presence which can be utilised by Koeman. He will guarantee him at least 20 goals in the Premier League which will boost Everton’s chances to do well in the English top flight. Koeman wants a mighty power upfront who would be able to give the opponent defenders a torrid time and Costa would be perfect for that role.
Moussa Dembele
The 20-year-old prodigy has attracted a lot of suitors but so far Celtic have been able to keep a hold of him. The French attacker has netted a whopping 32 goals since joining the Hoops from Fulham and Koeman might convince him to leave the Parkhead.
A combination of power and agility, Dembele could emulate the role of Lukaku at the Goodison Park. His link up play is pretty good and he could combine up front with Ross Barkley and Kevin Mirallas to form a dangerous trio.
Jamie Vardy
One of Leicester City’s main hitmen, Jamie Vardy might be an alternative to the Belgian attacker. The England international had a decent season with the Foxes and has no urgency to leave as of now. But if the situation arises he is likely to prefer a move to Everton which will eventually make him test his potential in Europe again.
