Newcastle United have clinched their qualification back in the Premier League from the Championship for the next season. The Magpies are well aware of the fact that top-flight football will be demanding and will be throwing tougher challenges for them to overcome and are thus they are readying their squad by looking to bring in reinforcements to take on the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal.
Quite a few names have been linked with a move to Newcastle this summer, and one of the most significant is that of the right winger from French club Angers, Nicolas Pepe. The Ivory Coast international has been a star for his club this term, powering them into the French Cup final against former French Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain.
The youngster from Angers has been a player who has interested the present boss of Newcastle United, Rafa Benitez, as he looks to add flare to his side. His form has been sublime this season, as he has played a significant role in the domestic tournaments, making it a memorable one for his club side. Reportedly, his brilliant display of skills has led to the initiation of interests from a number of clubs like Lille, Marseille, Lyon, along with the current French Ligue 1 champions AS Monaco. German Bundesliga sides Wolfsburg and Hamburg SV are also looking to make a bid for bagging the youngster for the next season.
Newcastle had tried a hand at making negotiations over a move for the Ivory Coast international during the last transfer window in January. However, the deal fell through, as the star man of Angers had to stay back with his current club in the French Ligue 1.
However, that seemingly has not stopped the Magpies from making a renewed attempt to rope in the youngster in the next transfer window. Newcastle coach Rafa Benitez has been handed full authority of the affairs relating to the transfer of players and one of his top priorities has been to sign the young winger from Angers for the forthcoming season.
Rafa Benitez is well aware of the problems that his team might face in the future if they don’t have a side strong enough. He has been an experienced customer in the Premier League and Champions League, and has helped his former club Liverpool to reach new heights in their history. The Newcastle United club authority has also complied with his views and is helping him as much as possible.
