Real Madrid have just finished a gallant season of football by winning the Champions League for the second time in consecutive years and for a record 12th time in their history. All the players have played their part in the great triumph over the Italian champions Juventus and have helped their team to show a dominating display at they put four past their opponents.
However, Welsh captain Gareth Bale started from the bench as usual. Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane started with Isco, as he has been doing of late since Bale was out with an injury, with the Spanish youngster making a good mark in the side alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema in the Galacticos’ attack. This has reportedly disappointed Bale to some extent, and he is looking to make a move to a club where he will be given exposure to first team football.
As per sources, the Welshman is looking to leave Santiago Bernabeu this summer, with the Premier League being his destination. The most likely club to sign him in the current circumstances might be Manchester United, who are in dire need of world-class players who will help them in their European campaign next season, as they return to the Champions League after winning the Europa League this season.
Manchester United have a solid interest in bagging the ex-Tottenham attacker in order to strengthen their team, after having cooled off their persuasion to rope in the French superstar Antoine Griezmann from Real Madrid’s arch rivals Atletico Madrid. The forward, who is an ardent fan of Manchester United legend David Beckham, has been linked largely with a move to Old Trafford since last season, but till date has not confirmed whether he wants a move to the Premier League club or not.
Bale is a player whom Manchester United have been trying to sign since his time at Southampton before he moved to Tottenham Hotspur four years ago. The Welshman was then again entitled to a move to Old Trafford but snubbed the interest from the Red Devils to make his way to Spain to join the Spanish giants Real Madrid at a world record transfer fee at that time.
This time around, if the Welshman makes a move back to the Premier League with Manchester United, the Red Devils will reportedly have to cough up something around £100 million. It is now to be seen how Manchester United reacts to the move, as they are currently the possessor of the footballer having the highest transfer fee in the world, Paul Pogba.
