Manchester United are looking to rebuild their team for the next season after this season turned out to be pretty dismal for them, with the Red Devils ending in the sixth position in the Premier League. However, the 13-time winners of the prestigious Premier League title won their maiden Europa League this season, handing themselves a chance to compete in the Champions League for the next season.
The Red Devils are looking in dire need of top-class players who will be able to lift them to glory in the next season. After concluding what has been an injury-plagued season for a number of players in the Manchester United squad, including their talismanic striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Jose Mourinho, the current man in charge at Old Trafford, is looking to rope in genuine attacking players to bolster his side’s chances in the Champions League next term. One such player who is on the top of the priority list for the Portuguese mastermind is the Croatian winger Ivan Perisic.
The brilliant midfielder is known for his excellent attacking prowess when it comes to performance in top flight football. Currently playing for the Italian giants Internazionale, the 28-year-old player has scored 11 goals in 31 matches in the Serie A. He is also known for his all-round contribution and has recorded eight assists in the tournament throughout the season, making way for his teammates to score goals.
Internazionale has reportedly slammed price tag of £45 million on their prized possession, which might have worked as a turn off for a number of clubs pursuing Perisic including Manchester United. However, the Italian Serie A club have come under a significant amount of financial pressure and are in need of some quick cash, apparently £26 millions to meet the Financial Fair Play regulations by June 30th, 2017.
Manchester United are looking to take advantage of this tumultuous situation at San Siro and are on the verge of making a £26 million bid to bag Internazionale’s prized possession in the next season. Speculations are rife that Internazionale has accepted the fact that Perisic is set to leave in the summer and is looking to use the money to get themselves out of the problematic situation that might instigate UEFA to take actions against them.
As per sources, German champions Bayern Munich and former French champions Paris St Germain are also looking to make a move in the summer to bag the Internazionale winger for the next season. However, Manchester United are considered to be favourites to sign him.
