Everton are still in dark about the future of their star striker Romelu Lukaku, who has reportedly denied to pen down a new deal with the Merseyside club and might be on the move this summer. He has initially been strongly linked with a move to his former club and current Premier League champions Chelsea, but the West London club are yet to offer a bid for the Belgian marksman to his current club, Everton.
This has, however, irked other big name clubs, including the likes of German champions Bayern Munich and Premier League club Manchester United, to have a go at the Toffees star man to bag him for the new season. The Red Devils, especially, are on the trail of Lukaku for some time now and feel that this might be the right opportunity for them to bring in some firepower into their side, which they have been missing since the injury to their mercurial striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Now, with the Swedish marksman being shown the door out of Old Trafford in the new season, it has been a clear indication from the Red Devils’ current man in charge Jose Mourinho that he wants to make amends for a rather disappointing first season as their manager and is looking to change things around as far as the squad is concerned.
The Portuguese mastermind has been aware of the fact that he will have to face some of the best teams in Europe in the Champions League in the next season and must be aptly prepared for the challenge by bringing in top class players into the side.
Reportedly, the Red Devils are negotiating terms with Lukaku’s current club Everton, who have put a huge price of £90 million on their prized possession for any potential suitors to make a bid for him. Manchester United have also got their tabs on Spanish striker Alvaro Morata to be brought into the side from Real Madrid after the youngster has been looking to leave Santiago Bernabeu following the lack of starts in the recently concluded season that saw his team become the champions of Spain as well as Europe.
Chelsea, meanwhile, have reportedly turned their attention to avail the services of the influential Polish striker Robert Lewandowski, who has been an integral part of the German Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich. The shock move, if it happens, will leave the Bavarians with no choice but to go in for the Belgian striker from Everton to be brought into the side as a replacement for Lewandowski.
