Jurgen Klopp’s second summer transfer window was expected to be an exciting one as his Liverpool side managed to qualify for the Champions League. But the shambles of the Van Dijk deal seems to have dampened the atmosphere around the club. However, Klopp does not seem fazed and wants to move back to familiar territory and is now scouting in the Bundesliga for Turkish talent Emre Mor.
The 19-year old is one of the few players who joined the club under Thomas Tuchel but he was not able to impress the manager and made just 12 starts in the Bundesliga. Though Dortmund hired Peter Bosz as their new coach, Mor is reportedly interested in an exit this summer and reports suggest that Klopp wants to sign him up.
According to the Sun, Liverpool want to sign Emre Mor on a yearlong loan, with an option to make it permanent next summer and are close to securing his services. A versatile player who can play all across the front line, Mor is a gifted attacker with excellent dribbling and passing skills. He can take on his man on the wings but is more of a player who loves to cut inside to find space and time on the ball.
He can be ruthless towards defenders and has a thunderous shot that can beat the best of the keepers in Europe. At just 19, he has already made 10 appearances for the Turkey national team and has gathered a lot of experience at the highest level.
He is not expected to be the first choice at Anfield next season as Klopp is also looking to bring in the likes of Mohamed Salah to the club but Mor can be the backup to the first team that can come off the bench and add some excitement to play.
Liverpool are expected to compete on all four fronts next season and Mor will make sure that Klopp is equipped with enough talent in the squad to face all such challenges. Playing as an understudy to the likes of Philippe Coutinho and Sadio Mane, along with working under Klopp, is bound to make Mor a better player even if it is just for a year on loan and this deal seems to be beneficial for both parties.
Klopp may have seen enough of Mor to scout for him and look for a move and if the German decides he is the right man, the Turkish teenager certainly has all the qualities to become Liverpool’s own exciting youngster for years to come.
