Kyle Bartley has played a big role in stabilising the defence for the Leeds United side in the last season and has given his wholehearted effort to make his team reach the playoffs in the last season. However, it has been too little too late, as the Whites goofed up in the later part of the season to see themselves end the season in the seventh position, handing arch rivals Fulham the opportunity to make it to the playoffs in the last term.
As an aftermath of the disappointment, the Leeds coach Garry Monk also left his post of the Leeds head coach. However, the Whites have appointed ex-Spain international Thomas Christiansen as their new head coach, and he is already looking to bring in new players in order to launch a strong team on the pitch next season and reignite their chances to make it into the playoffs as well.
The name on the top of the wish list for the new Leeds United coach is that of Kyle Bartley, who was on loan from Swansea City for the last season at Elland Road. He has been one of the mainstays of the team and Christiansen is well aware of that and is looking to rope him into the team on a permanent basis for the next season to ensure that there are no loopholes left in the backline on which the opposition can capitalise.
However, a highly impressive season at the Elland Road might give Bartley the opportunity to be a part of the first team of Swansea City in the new season, as their boss Paul Clement has been assertive about the ex-Arsenal player, and has said that he has not been totally out of equation while rethinking his strategies for building his squad for the new season.
Incidentally, Swansea had a disastrous season last term in the Premier League and averted relegation right in the ending stages.
Middlesbrough, who now have the ex-Swansea City and Leeds United boss Garry Monk as their manager, are also looking forward to bag Bartley for the next term. Monk has been much impressed by the display of the young centre back at the heart of his former club’s defence and is looking determined to sign him for his new club in the next season.
However, it is not going to be easy for either Leeds United or Middlesbrough to get a hand on the Swansea City player, as the Welsh club will be assessing him before listening to any offers.
