Huddersfield Town have been the newest entrant into the Premier League, having won the Championship playoff final, beating Reading on penalties. The Terriers, naturally, are much happy with their achievement and are on their way to make a mark in top flight football in which is going to be their comeback season after a long gap of 45 years.
Huddersfield are well aware of the fact that they need to bring in quite a few players who can help them survive in the top flight and make them a stronger side in the next term. David Wagner, their current man in charge, has been eyeing a number of players to be brought into the side, including the Italian defender Andrea Ranocchia, who was a part of the relegated club Hull City in the last season.
The 29-year-old has been one of the top performers for the Tigers in the last season, who slumped to a demotion down to the Championship following relegation from the Premier League. The player had come on loan until the end of the last season from Italian giants Inter Milan and showed his class throughout the second half of the season. His great display of skills at the heart of the Hull City defence was something to watch out for in the last term, however, was too little too late to save the season for the Tigers in the end.
Ranocchia has been considered to be surplus at his current club Inter Milan and now that he has returned to the Italian outfit, he is well aware of the fact that he might have to sit out for most of the season on the sidelines. He is desperate to make a move back to the Premier League for another stint with any of the club and enjoy another successful season in the top flight.
As per reports, the player has been linked with a number of clubs from the Premier League including the likes of West Bromwich Albion apart from Huddersfield Town, as the Baggies might face the need to bring in a good enough defender to replace their mainstay at the heart of the backline Jonny Evans, who might look to make a move out of the Hawthorns in the summer.
However, there might be takers for the Inter Milan centre in the Serie A as well, with clubs like Genoa being interested in the 29 year old. Ranocchia himself, though, is much fond of the Premier League and might prefer to head back to England.
