Tottenham has concluded one of the best seasons in the recent past, in which they ended at the second spot in the league table in the Premier League. Almost all the players played a very crucial role in making it happen for the North London club, except some, who had a really difficult season to deal with.
Moussa Sissoko is one such player, who had what he calls “the worst season of his career so far” in his very first term with the Spurs. He only started eight games in the season and was kept mostly on the sideline by the present coach Mauricio Pochettino.
The French defender is now looking for a move to any other club who will give him first team exposure on a regular basis. He said that he did not expect to start every match for the Spurs, but it was not even in his farthest imagination that things will hit such a low point during the first of his five-year term with Tottenham.
The Frenchman has reportedly been warned by his National team coach Didier Deschamps that he has to be quick enough to find a club where he will have the opportunity to play in the first team on a regular basis, or else he might bear the risk of being dropped out of the French national side that will be travelling to Russia to play the World Cup in 2018.
The player has also revealed that though nothing has been decided about his future at Tottenham, he wants to get an insight of what Pochettino has in his head regarding his future. He said that if the Argentine does not have him in his plans for the next season, he must let him know about it so that he and his agents can take adequate steps to find him a better club this summer.
The French ace was brought into the club last summer at the price of £30 million, but has been heavily underused and left on the sidelines for most of the campaign by Pochettino. Though there have been interests from clubs like Spanish giants Barcelona and French Ligue 1 side Marseille, there is a possibility for Sissoko to play in the Premier League with a few clubs already interested.
However, the Frenchman is likely to go back to the Ligue 1 in the next season, which he thinks has an attractive prospect in the future. The likes of Paris St Germain, Monaco could be decent alternatives but Sissoko will be happy with a move to Lyon, Marseille and Nice as well. So is his time in England already up?
