Everton have been looking to make a strong start to the season for the next term, and they are already on course to do that by bringing in two brilliant players in the form of Ajax skipper Davy Klaassen, the inspirational midfielder and the young shot-stopper Jordan Pickford from the relegated side Sunderland. Now they are looking to further strengthen their midfield by bagging Pedro Obiang from fellow Premier League club West Ham United in the forthcoming summer transfer window.
Pedro Obiang has been one of the players who have been influential in the midfield for the Hammers. The former Under 21 International from Spain has been tracked by a number of big name clubs including the likes of Italian giants AC Milan and Spanish La Liga club Sevilla.
West Ham United are well aware of the fact that Obiang is one of the hottest properties in modern day European Football and it will be quite tough for them to tie him down at the London Stadium in the next season.
Reportedly, the Toffees might lose their mercurial midfielder James McCarthy in the summer transfer window which calls for immediate evasive action to be taken. Ronald Koeman, the man in charge at Goodison Park is desperate to bring in the young Spaniard, who has been valued at around £15 million by the Hammers.
As per sources, the 25-year old has two years left on his contract with West Ham United and Slaven Bilic, the man in charge at the London Stadium is looking to extend his stay beyond the stipulated period. The dynamic midfielder has made sixty-five appearances for his present club in all competitions during the last two seasons.
Obiang’s ominous form has made him end as the runner-up in the Best Player of the Year for West Ham United in the last season, which he lost narrowly to teammate Michail Antonio. The Spaniard is known for his significant ball control and keeping hold of the ball for a good amount of time on the pitch. He is also known to play in more of a central position and can attack as well as defend according to the situation.
Everton are looking forward to getting the Spaniard in order to pair him with Idrissa Gueye in a central midfield position and make it tough for the opposition to keep possession the ball with time-to-time interceptions and physical presence of the midfielder pair in the heart of the pitch.
