Everton have shown their intent to build a strong team for the next term, and have already started bringing in players who have been the stars for their respective teams in the last season, including the likes of Ajax skipper Davy Klaassen and Sunderland shot-stopper Jordan Pickford. The Toffees are looking to bring in more players who can turn the tide in their favour for the next season.
One such player, who is right on the top of the priority list for the Merseyside club, is the Juventus midfielder Stefano Sturaro. The Italian international has been playing for the Serie A champions Juventus for the last few years and has also signed a new four and a half year deal with the Bianconeri recently.
However, the lack of starts might be the one factor to lure him away from the Italian giants, as a move to the Goodison Park is almost certain to give him first team starts in the next season. The Merseyside club is in danger of losing one of their key players in the form of England international Ross Barkley and the Italian midfielder might be the best fit to replace him in the starting XI for the Toffees.
Sturaro has been playing well for Juventus since moving from Genoa in 2015 but has failed to make a breakthrough into the starting XI on a regular basis. That, however, has not decreased his importance as a fine midfielder, who can play both as an attacking midfielder as well as a containing one and can cause a threat to any opposition with his darting runs and quality passes into the attacking third to initiate attacks on the opposition goal.
The 24-year-old has made 71 appearances for the Bianconeri so far and has been an important part of their midfield whenever he has come out on the pitch. The Italian has been eyed by a number of big clubs from all over Europe and might be the perfect player to fit the bill for Ronald Koeman, Everton’s current man in charge.
Sturaro is known for his brilliant dribbling and passing skills, which is amply dangerous and can spell disaster for the opposition in the midfield. He has the ability to take shots from a long range outside the box and also can finish well from close range as well. The 24-year-old also has the ability to hold on to the ball for a significant period of time and help his team in maintaining good ball possession.
