Everton are already preparing for life without their main man up front, Romelu Lukaku, as the Belgian star man is set to leave the Merseyside club in the summer to make a potential move back to his former club and defending Premier League champions Chelsea. The man in charge at Goodison Park, Ronald Koeman is looking to bring a good replacement for him in the summer and has been lining up some candidates who can do so.
Reportedly, the Dutchman has been eyeing the Chelsea striker who has been on loan to the Dutch Eredivisie side Ajax this season, Bertrand Traore. The forward has been one of the players who has played a pivotal role for his side this season to make them reach the final of the Europa League, where they were beaten by the Premier League Manchester United. He also helped his side to end the season in second position in the Dutch Eredivisie this term.
The Burkina-Faso international has been the part of a charged up Ajax side this season and made a good impression over a number of clubs from all over Europe with 6 goals in 37 appearances that he made for his club. He had also scored 16 goals in 42 games for Chelsea during his stay at Stamford Bridge prior to the recently concluded one.
He was the main man in the semi-final clash against Lyon for Ajax, which saw the striker score a brace to seal his side’s win and book a date with the Red Devils in the final. His good form this season has been the prime reason behind Koeman looking to make a bid for him to rope him in for the brilliant Belgian, who scored 25 goals for them this season.
Reportedly, the Merseyside club is all set to put a bid of £17 million on the table in order to bag the Chelsea striker for the next season. The proposal is being termed to be a concrete one from the point of view of Everton, who are in dire need of a good striker that can play up front with the same vigour and ferocity like Romelu Lukaku.
The young striker is known for his darting runs into the attacking third, and taking shots at the opposition goal with superb accuracy. He is also known for his strong physical presence and can take shots from both close range and distance. Aside from this, he is a very good dribbler who can bamboozle the opposition players with his footwork.
